We came to Winnipeg in 1985, originally from Bratislava/Slovakia.
I worked at the JK Construction Drafting for Joe for about a year, in 1987-88 I think, before I was able to go to the UM. Joe gave me my first technical job in Canada, doing technical drafting. It was a great place to work and to get to know Joe a bit. I enjoyed my special Friday duty to go and pick up some beer at the end of workday, where we just talked about everything happening in Winnipeg, in Slovakia and the rest of the world. These are very happy memories for a new immigrant family starting in Winnipeg. Thank you Joe for your support!
