Obituary of William James Laudinsky

William (Bill) James Laudinsky, age 59 of Winnipeg, suddenly passed away on Sunday April 7, 2024 at Saint Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba. He is survived by his wife Cindy and daughter Violet, brother John, and sister Kathy. He was predeceased by his mother Arlene, and father John Laudinsky

Bill was born in Winnipeg April 2, 1965, and worked at Eaton's in the Shipping department. After graduation he worked at Canada Packers Seafood and Cheese division. After taking a telecommunications course he worked at Mind Computers as a service technician, for his uncle. After working at Mind Computers, Bill got a job at the City of Winnipeg. He worked in the Waterworks Division for 35 years in various positions and eventually became Supervisor in charge of Water Meters. Due to his health conditions he had to go on disability and was saddened he could no longer be at the job he loved.

Bill married Cindy on June 4, 1988, on a record-breaking hot day. They were blessed with a child Violet in 1993. Bill's hobbies included woodworking, making various furniture projects for the house and cottage, designing, and building his cottage at Gull Lake, Manitoba, small engine repairs, such as repairing lawnmowers. He enjoyed the outdoors, owned a snowmobile, jet ski, boat, and off-road vehicles. He loved to travel in the winter to warmer climates such as Arizona, Las Vegas, and to his favourite place Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. He also enjoyed classic cars and finally purchased a 67 Fire bird in 2015. He was always learning how to build or repair things. He was always frugal and wanted to do the work himself rather than pay someone.

Bill will be missed by all the people he met throughout his working career, his healthcare teams, fellow patients, family, and friends. In lieu of flowers please donate to Juvenile Diabetes, or the Heart and Stroke foundation in his name.

Celebration of Life will be held on April 26, 2024 at St. Saviours Anglican Church, 690 Munroe Avenue at 2:00 p.m.
