Obituary of Ed Bain

In loving memory of Ed Bain, a beloved companion, father, grandfather, and friend who passed away peacefully on June 13, 2024 at Riverview Health Centre with family by his side.

Eddie was born, Donald Edward Bain, in Biggar, Saskatchewan on August 14, 1957, to George (d) and Ferne Bain (d) joining the growing Bain family of ultimately 12 children. 

Ed was a rowdy kid among his many siblings Jo-Anne(d), Patricia(d), Bob(d), Bill, Judy(d), Leslie (d), David, Jack (d), Larry, and Mary.  Happily reuniting with a long-lost 12th sibling, Linda in 2020.

Ed is survived by his two daughters, Laura (Manny) and Cheryl (Ron) who were the lights of his life. 

Of course this “Papa” absolutely adored his grandchildren, Samantha and Gabriel, and took great pride in watching them grow and thrive. 

Ed's significant other, Sheryl Bowker was his rock and cherished companion, sharing in his joys and triumphs throughout their time together.

Ed Bain will be remembered for his kind heart, infectious laughter, silly antics and sayings and unwavering love for his family. 

His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the fond memories, cherished moments, and hilarious stories shared with those who knew and loved him. 

Eddie lived a fulfilling and adventurous life, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In 2023, Ed retired from the Palliser Furniture Company after more than 33 years dedicated.

One of Ed's greatest passions in life was fishing. He had a special talent for Catch-and-Release fishing, earning him several Master Angler awards over the years. One of his most memorable catches was a massive River Sturgeon, a testament to his skill and dedication to the sport. Ed's love for fishing was truly unparalleled, and he often found solace and joy in the quiet moments spent by the water.

In addition to fishing, Ed was also a devoted fan of pro wrestling. He never missed a Monday Night Raw, Friday Night SmackDown, or Main Event, reveling in the excitement and drama of the sport. His enthusiasm for wrestling was infectious, and he eagerly shared his passion with his family and friends, creating lasting memories of "Wrestling Nights" with friends that will be cherished forever.

May he rest in peace, knowing that he touched the lives of many and left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Cremation has taken place at his wishes and a private Celebration of Life to follow July 2024.
