Obituary of Peter Loewen
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Peter Loewen, with family by his side, to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 91 on July 26, 2024.
Peter was born in Hague, Saskatchewan on November 4, 1932.
He was predeceased by his parents Henry and Maria Loewen; his daughter Barbara (1981); son-in-law Grant (2022); 11 brothers and 3 sisters.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years Angela (Van De Kerckhove); son Greg; daughters Sabrina (Clint), Jackie (Grant*); 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn, one sister Sara (George) Wiebe; sisters-in-law Helen (George) Loewen, Anne (Henry) Loewen, and Florence (Abe) Loewen; and numerous nieces and nephews all of whom he loved dearly.
He loved us all, and he made sure we knew it.
Dad had a soft spot for nature. He loved to feed the birds, which is what he was doing at the time of his unfortunate fall. He was an avid hunter, and never missed a hunting season, often going with his son Greg, or some brothers/nephews/friends. He loved to play Kaiser/Fifya (a much-loved family card game). He loved his pets and always had at least one dog and cat throughout his entire life.
We sincerely thank all of the family members that came to visit at the hospital in Notre Dame.
We would like to thank the Staff at Boundary Trails Hospital for their very kind and immediate care, and transport of Dad to Notre Dame de Lourdes Hospital, where he, and we, were treated with the utmost care. A sincere thank you to each of you.
Cremation has taken place.
