My condolences to Royce's family. Royce always had a big huge smile on his face. The last time I saw Royce was a get together at Jim & Rena's home. I left with sore cheeks from all the laughter and talking about the good old days. Dianne McShane (Maxwell)

I’ve known of Royce longer than he’s known me! How does that happen you ask? I hung out many years at the downtown clubs in the 80s-90s and I frequently noticed this tall, handsome snazzily dressed dude and I thought he’s really got it going on! I didn’t actually really meet him until years later, through Tom, a mutual friend. We three were all about sports and jazz. We went to Bison football games together and jazz on Saturday afternoons at The Pemby. We also went to bars to watch Blue Bombers and Jets games, except if the Big Blue were home because Royce had season tickets… for 58 years (1962-2020)! He LOVED his Bombers, knew everything about them and actually became buddies with Richard Harris, the Bombers’ late legendary D-line coach. Royce was a great friend to me and many others. I’ll miss him greatly. RIP my good buddy.

I knew Royce when we worked together at Safeway. He took me under his wing and took care of me. No matter what the issue, he was always willing to help. I loved his sense of humour and his wit. He constantly spoke of Nova Scotia and always wanting to visit whenever he had the chance. I remember him coming into work with his Blue Bomber jacket on the minute the weather turned cold. I can still hear that chuckle of his. Rest well, gentle one. You will be missed.

I was friends with Royce for many years. He and I, as well as a few other friends, traveled to see a different NFL game each year for several years. Not to mention getting together for the Monday night games at each others houses. Lots of laughs, and memories!
Ed Clayton. (friend).

Royce & I became friends over 50 years ago; at a time when I really needed friends. I will cherish the friendship we had forever.

First met Royce at safeway and then often ran into him at the old stadium. My son was 4yrs old at the time and introduced Royce as Milt Stegal's uncle. We would always look for him and try to get into the line he would be serving at the grocery. We were always greeted with a gentle smile and analysis of the previous Bomber game. Our condolences to the family,he was truly wonderful man

R.I.P. Royce. I am glad you came into my life. I will always remember your positive attitude and at one time converting me to be a Montreal Canadiens fan. We had great times together and thank you for teaching me how to properly hold a knife and fork. I cherished our friendship and you will always be in my heart. I wish the distance from Burlington, (Toronto) was not that far as I would have loved to spend more time with you. I remember when you told me that you pretended to be a band member with Tina Turner and getting into the Winnipeg Arena to see her concert backstage. So long my friend.

First and foremost and on behalf of my family! We all would love to send our Deepest Sympathy and condolences to Uncle Royce’s children and grandchildren..We are all letting you know that you are all in our hearts and prayers (Amen) When I got a phone call from my dear daughter Cheyanna to let me know that Uncle Royce had passed on...I was so touched from the bottom of my heart. Uncle Royce was such a kind soul and loved his Collins clan very much. Uncle Royce will be sadly missed but will never be forgotten by his many friends and family. Uncle Royce is now up in heavenly heaven with the guardian angels flying high and joining with his brothers and sisters. Amen

I am writing on behalf of Peter Wilson and myself, Dorothy Wilson. Royce was a regular when it came to dancing. We were all friends, much younger then, until we moved to Toronto. I/we have great and fond memories of house parties and like I said, lots of dancing. Yes, he will be missed. I was glad to get his history from his obituary. Well written.
Thank You. Dorothy Wilson
