Obituary of Adeline Ann Romaniuk
After a courageous battle, it is with heavy hearts we announce our beloved Wife, Mother, Baba, and Pra-Baba entered into the glory of her Lord and Savior on the evening of September 5, 2024 at the age of 85, with family by her side.
Adeline will lovingly be remembered by her devoted Husband of 62 years Donald; her three Daughters Shelley (Albert), Sherryl (Michael), and Lori (David); her five Grandchildren Kendall (Joel), Shellise (Kerry), Jonathan, Ryan (Jovy), and Madison; her three Great-Grandchildren Rayne, Quinn, and Thatcher; Brother Walter (Irene); Sister in-laws Sally, Yvonne and Sophie; Brother in-law Bill; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her Mother Mary and Father Michael; Mother and Father in-law Anne and Joseph; Brothers Joe and Paul; Brother in-laws Dan and Bohden; and Sister in-laws Elsie and Helen.
Baba was raised on the Kalinski family farm in Tyndall, Manitoba; where she gained many character building and life skills that served her well throughout her life.
She lived much of her adult life in Lorette, where she and Don created their forever home. There, they raised their daughters, enjoyed countless summers making cherished memories with their grandchildren, and hosted all their family holiday gatherings.
There’s no doubt that Baba’s love language was acts of service, especially when it involved working up a sweat in her kitchen. Whether she was pinching perogies and perashky, rolling holubtsi, or baking an array of Christmas dainties, every dish was crafted with meticulous care and love. You could always count on leaving Baba and Gigi’s with both a full belly and heart.
Her cooking skills were cherished by both the residents and staff of Ste. Amante Centre, where she made many friends during her time as a Dietary Aide. She brought warmth and joy to the cafeteria, and her culinary talents were deeply appreciated until her retirement in 2004.
Baba was an avid gardener with a particular fondness for growing and caring for her flowers. A hobby that brought her immense joy and peace. Her garden was a true reflection of her soul—colorful, nurturing, and ever-blooming. Whether tending to roses, lilies, or daisies, Baba found solace in the beauty of nature and shared it generously with those around her. Family, friends, and neighbors alike will remember the joy of marveling at the stunning blooms she nurtured.
Her devotion to her family was surpassed only by her deep love for the Lord. It is this faith that brings us comfort, knowing that our beloved Wife, Mother, and Baba now dwells eternally in the house of her Lord and Savior.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Springs Church, 725 Lagimodiere Boulevard, on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 1:00 p.m
