Obituary of Robert Campbell Riddle

On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, Robert (Bob) Riddle passed away at Poseidon Long Term Care as a result of dementia.

Bob was born June 8, 1947 in Grandby Quebec to Walter and Bernadette Riddle.

Bob spent his childhood years through to young adulthood in the province of Quebec. 

In 1966 he met his wife to be Elaine Rivard who was attending teachers college.  They were married on October 11, 1969. The family then moved across the country to Vancouver but before that in 1974 they welcomed their only child Colleen to the family.   Once in Vancouver Bob started a long and dedicated career with Canada Post Corporation. 

In 1982 they relocated to Brandon, Manitoba.  Bob continued his work with Canada post and was active in the Union of postal workers and ended his career as President of CUPW. 

After retirement in 2005, he was an active volunteer with the Shilo Military Museum. 

Bob was later diagnosed with Dementia and moved to Winnipeg to be with his daughter and her husband.

The family lived together almost up until his passing. 

He was a dedicated father, husband, and good man. 

Bob will be missed by all.
