Obituary of Rosemary Lee Taverner

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Rosemary Lee Taverner, the only woman in the world to never be wrong, at the Grace Hospital on January 27, 2020 at the age of 73 years. Left to cherish Rosemary’s memory is her beloved husband Douglas of 32 years. Rosemary will also be remembered by her mother Thelma McDougall; three sons Derek (Liz), Kyle Foley and D’Arcy Foley; three daughters Rochelle Want (Dennis), Trina, Gabrielle Foley (Kris); many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also mourning Rosemary’s passing are her three brothers Richard, Duncan and Donald; six sisters Cheryl, Norma, Beverly, Alice, Suzanna and Joanne; as well as anyone who ever met her. Rosemary was predeceased by her Father Charles Russell McDougall. Throughout her 32-year long marriage to her truck driving husband Doug, she would often join him on the road. They travelled many miles across North America together, from ocean to ocean including 48 out of 49 continental US States. Being up in the sleeper cab while going under low bridges wasn’t a highlight of those trips for Rosemary. Since Rosemary’s father was a Manitoba Fiddle Champion, it was natural that she took to music like a duck to water. She was a talented country music singer, piano player and a guitarist and her love of music was passed down to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rosemary was very tenacious, if she bit into something, she would not let it go. If someone needed help, Rosemary was there. If someone was alone, she would gather people and make them feel loved and involved. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
