Obituary of Myke Briggs

It is with a heavy heart & pained soul that I announce the passing of Myke Steven Briggs. It was after a long battle with cancer that he finally succumbed to his illness on Jan 28, 2020 in St Boniface Hospital, in Winnipeg. He was surrounded by family during this final step. He was kept comfortable, he was surrounded by family, and I don't believe he was afraid. Briggs, as most of us called him, lived a full and amazing life. He was born in Salinas, California. He traveled through most of the States before making Winnipeg his home. He has an unsurpassed love of horses, every leg of The Triple Crown was Christmas for him. Before he passed, he would say to bet on the 3rd horse in the 3rd race and he would be there. He was entertained with Fantasy Hockey & Football. Although his team was not always the best, he managed to take a few Championships with him. He loved the Bombers and the Jets, plus he never turned down a good tailgate. We spent our time together binge watching tv, hoarding snacks and denying our guilty pleasure... reality tv. Myke Briggs touched many lives and was so appreciative of all the support he had along the way. He treated me with unconditional love and received the same from me. His extended and hand-picked family is huge and I would like to thank each one of you personally but there's not enough room. For all of you who made him feel at home through holidays, meals, and special occasions...Thank You! For all of you that adopted Myke into your families...Thank You! Mostly, for all of you who helped physically, mentally and emotionally... Thank you! We will be having a Celebration of Life for Myke Briggs at 201 Burland Avenue on February 8th, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.. Feel free to drop in and stay as long as you want.
