Obituary of Henry Goertzen

We are saddened to announce the passing of our dad Henry Goertzen on February 19, 2020 at Heritage Lodge. Henry will be mourned by his son Michael (Ainsley); daughter Melodie (Matthew); granddaughters Lindsay, Summer and Cassandra; brothers Jake and Pete (Denise); sisters Tina (Ken) and Maryanne; brother-in-law Bill; as well as his nieces, nephews and friends. Henry is predeceased by his wife Donna; mother Helen; sister Helen and sister-in-law Rena. Dad was a caring, kind man with a great sense of humour. He loved family get togethers, music and making new friends. We teased him that he missed his calling as a Walmart greeter because when we went to visit him in the care home, he waved and said hello to every single person that passed by his room. Dad had a passion for photography. He found beauty in everything around him to capture on film but when his granddaughters came along, they were his primary focus with his camera. We would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to the staff at Heritage Lodge for the care, comfort and friendship that they provided Dad throughout the years. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the MS Society.
