I could tell many stories of Cam’s involvement in the local mini car racing scene but rather pass on our heart felt condolences to the family. Shawne, your husband invited me into your home many, many times and made sure I had a cold beer in my hand while he talked about racing, obviously this will never be forgotten. At this moment, non of that matters but what does matter is you! It’s easy for all of us to wish you the best and you graciously thanking us, however non of us truly knows what your really feeling inside and what you’re truly going through. Just know that God has you in the palm of his hand and he will see you through this difficult time. Karen and I are thinking of you and sending warm prayers your way.

Julie and I Where neighbors of Shawne on Clonard Ave when she met Cam . I remember Cam as being one of the best mechanics I ever knew. He was always ready to help with anything, just a fantastic human being.
He would on occasion drop in at my work just to say hi. I will surely miss that knowing he won’t be coming around anymore
So sorry for everybody’s loss but especially you Shawne .
Love from Bill and Julie Wiebe

Hi Bill and Julie, thank you so much, we miss you guys, I remember Cam being the only one that could fit under the truck to do the repairs, and building the garage together! Bring such a smile to think back on everything thing we did together and cutting each other’s grass, and the many beers we had together love you both

We've been Cam and Shawne's next door neighbors for 13+ years and consider ourselves so incredibly fortunate for having known them. We met them when I was pregnant with my oldest and they enthusiastically witnessed our children learning to walk, talk, ride bikes and start school. They were kind and generous to everyone they knew and both had an enormous heart for children and animals. They'd discuss school and sports and were extremely interested in and supportive of the kids endeavours. It was always an exciting day when the Mayors welcomed a new canine family member and they were so patient with kids on the bay who wanted to regularly come visit. Their dogs truly won the lottery, as each one was cherished beyond measure. Two summers ago, my kids rescued a puppy and were excited to show her off to the Mayors. Cam made a beautiful, personalized welcome home sign for her and put it in the lawn for the kids to find the following morning. They treasured it far too much to keep it on the lawn and have it withstand the elements, so opted to display it on the mantle instead. Anything Cam has kindly made for our family over the years has always held a special reverence. My heartfelt condolences to Shawne, Glen and Cam's extended family. He was a wonderful man and left all who knew him far better for it.

As the eldest person in the Mayor family I didn't know Cameron while he was in Erickson but met him at a family reunion in Crawford Park years later. We both had a life in sales so had plenty to talk about. then we connected on Facebook because of his skills in design and carpentry and my life as an artist. we were planning to go to Halifax later this summer to visit Jordan who is a machinist and they would have had hours of mutual interest. I appreciated his skills and his personality and am so sorry to hear he wasn't well. Hugs to Auntie Beryl and Darwin and Delmar and the whole family.

There are too many words to describe Cam, and yet not enough of them would begin to describe how amazing of a person he was. Cam has been a friend for many years, and is the reason those of us connected to the South Manitoba Rifles learned about an event known as Operation: East Wind. Because of that small little event, Cam introduced himself and us to something that would change our approach to the sport in an incredible way. Even in the toughest of times, Cam was rarely without a smile. He was a true friend, and will not be forgotten.

My deepest condolences to all Cam’s family. Cam and I were childhood friends and we were basically neighbors. We spent lots of time together during elementary school and I have so many wonderful memories of spending time together... tobogganing, skating on the pond down the street from where we lived, building a raft, and biking. He was a fun- loving guy and treated others with so much respect. Praying for God’s peace and comfort for his family and friends during this difficult time.

Please accept heartfelt condolences from myself, my family and my teammates on the South Manitoba Rifles (airsoft). Cam was an enthusiastic participant in many of the most memorable airsoft adventures the team had the pleasure of participating in. He was always the first to offer his many abilities to any worthy cause, and made dedicated friends rapidly as a result of his character, experience, and giving spirit. I know that I speak for many of my circle of friends when I say that he will be hugely missed.

So very sad and sorry to hear this news. Many memories from elementary and high school days but Cam reached out a few years back as he traveled through the Missouri area to go hunting. Invited him to come visit but it never happened. Prayers to all the family for peace and comfort

Sorry to hear about Cam’s passing. My Dad, Cam’s Uncle Lorne had many games of crib with Cam. Cam enjoyed hearing Uncle Lorne’s stories about hunting and fishing as much as Uncle Lorne liked to tell them. Rest In Peace, Cam

My sincerest condolences to the family.
I met Cameron as Federal Mogul rep 20 years ago as we work in the same industry. He always had some things on the go and dug into his heels to figure out some technical problem a customer had.
He will truly missed
Rest in Peace Cam

I am so sorry to hear of Cam's passing.
I first met Cam at a Winnipeg Jets game that we both attended with a customer. As many other people have already attested, he was immediately someone who you were drawn to and he had a easy rapport that defined him in his career and as an individual.
To his family and immediate circle of friends....my deepest condolences. I know he will be missed.

Shawne and Glen, our Sympathies from the Texas Holdem group
There’s a group of us from the Transport Industry that get together from time to time to play Texas Holdem and Cam was one of those individuals. Cam was one of the more skilled players and would often win and take $5.00 from each of us. Cam hosted a couple of these games and often when a person from the group hosts a game they typically have snacks for everyone, but not Cam. Being the generous individual he is, he had to do something more than just snacks. He had spent the day preparing Ribs, he slow roasted them during the day then cooked them on the Bar-B-Que, they were some of the ribs I’ve ever tasted.
Cam it was always a joy having you attend one of our games, you will be missed my friend!

My sincere sympathies to Cam's family and friends. I was so shocked to hear of his passing. Cam and I took our Amateur Radio course together and helped each other out, especially in the early days of our hobby. I enjoyed keeping up with his hobbies on Facebook and marveled at his talents. He will be sadly missed. 73 my friend.

We were once neighbours of Cam and Shawne in Royalwood and we have fond memories of our time together. He organized and hosted a neighborhood party and a poker game because he wanted to build the community, and he invited us over for drinks and conversation. Quite often, we would have a conversation in the middle of the street laughing, joking and sharing stories. He had numerous hobbies and he always had gadgets that he was playing around with that he could easily be mistaken for Doc Brown! Cam was always kind and generous to our family helping us around the neighborhood and various house projects. Cam was always smiling and he had a great sense of humour.
It’s been a few years since we spoke to him and it is with sadness of hearing the news today. Although our time together was only a few years, when we moved away, he was a neighbour that we certainly missed. Rest in peace.
Edison and Monique
