We were very sorry to hear of Dave's passing. We have lost touch over the years but fondly remember Keystone Dragways where Dave was the announcer for many years. He is fondly remembered for his great smile and sense of humour. He was a special person and our condolences to his family. Rest in peace "Big Dave".

“I first met Dave in the early 90’s while I was working as a golf instructor in Winnipeg. Dave absolutely loved golf and worked hard on his game. He never took himself too seriously, always had a good sense of humour about it. Eventually I ended up working with most of his family and extended family. Those were good times full of laughs. Before we moved from Winnipeg in 2000, I had played a number of rounds with Dave, had annual dinner’s with his family and watched The Master’s together on occasion. I enjoyed being around Dave, no matter what you were doing Dave always had a smile on his face. I don’t remember him ever complaining about anything except his own game. I’ll never forget Dave!”

Worked with Dave in the 60’s at Hawkins Ferguson CA’s as well as in the Tower at Keystone Dragways. Many a fun ride in his ‘56 Chevy Convertible. Fond memories of an old friend.

Very sad to learn of Dave’s passing. I knew him as a great guy, fun and car- knowledgable right from his dragstrip announcing days. Enjoyed his friendship and will miss him. Condolences.
