Our heartfeld condolences to the family. We are so sad to hear the news. We have many fond memories of Lorne and family as neighbours, through the Church, through the Scouts, and through our families continued friendship. We are thankful we were able to visit with Lorne 2 summers ago in Manitoba. Our thoughts are with you and we know you have many great memories to help you through these sad times.

I remember Scouter Lorne very well. My dad, Jim Menzies from Morden, was often involved with Scouter Lorne organizing area scout activities. Scouter Lorne was generous with his time, good with teaching young boys, and always had a smile. I am sorry for your loss.

Condolences to the family on Lorne's passing.
As a former Councilor for the RM of Headingley, elected soon after the formation of the Municipality, I relied a great deal on Lorne's expertise and experience. He was unfailingly helpful to me as a newly elected person, giving advice when asked and gently facilitating understanding of the complex nature of local government.
He was encouraging and respectful of all, whether it was staff, elected persons or local residents needing help and advice and I was reminded of so much of that at his retirement party held at Breezy Bend. As tributes poured forth, he was modest, but all those who worked with him understood how vital he was to the success of our new Municipality.
Headingley will be forever grateful to this wonderful leader.
Respectfully,
Margaret Mills
former Councilor,
R.M. Headingley

My deepest sympathies to all of Lorne’s family. He was a friend for many years and while we didn’t connect often in later years when we did the conversations were long and full. I’ll always remember his music and events we were both involved in.

I share with you the deep loss of my brother-in-law whom I always respected
for his friendly and unassuming personality. I feel the pain of his loss, especially when it followed only 11 months after the passing of his sister, my dear wife Lorraine, both at the age of 84. My thoughts and prayers are with you all, Claus

Bruce and Cindy, our condolences to you and your families on the loss of your Dad. Lorne hired me to work for him in the municipal office in Sanford in 1971. I spent 8 years working for him, and he was a great mentor for me.

Heartfelt condolences go out to the family.
Russ & I had many good camp outs with Lorne and Marnie with the Manitoba Sam’s Lorne was always helping out with all his Scouting
tricks and Marnie always had projects to keep us occupied whether it be games or food. Many good memories whether on the road somewhere! or the many gatherings in their home. Always fun and entertaining. They will be missed.
