Teresa, or as her family called her Mama T, was born on August 30th, 1954 in Winnipeg. She was such a vibrant, cheerful and loving woman, who made everyone feel welcomed. She fell in love and married her handsome husband Antonio within two months of meeting. He had arrived from Italy on a travel visa to see family and it was love at first sight. Teresa worked very hard for her family at MTS for 30+ years in human resources. For 9 years, she also stayed at home to help raise her three children that she was so proud of and loved so much.
Teresa loved to cook and her favourite thing was entertaining family and friends. She was always so proud of the new, delicious creations she made. Her and her husband’s favourite outing was having dinner at Club Regent Casino and playing the slots with her sister, brother in-law and their friends. She also enjoyed a competitive and loud game of scopa with her family. In the summer, you’d find Teresa power walking down the street, singing along to her favourite tunes. She also frequently walked to browse St. Vital mall, where she loved buying stuff for the kitchen and bright clothes, shoes & purses.
She always looked forward to seeing her family, and spent time asking how everyone was doing, and what was new in their lives. Teresa was a beautiful woman, inside and out. She was the most genuine, thoughtful, caring and loving person who always put others first. Family was everything to her and she always made everyone feel so special.
Teresa, you deserved to have way more time. We are heartbroken to see you go, but we have comfort in knowing that you are at peace and in a better place rejoined with your mom, dad and all other family members you were so close to.
The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and other staff at Cancer Care, Palliative Care and Dr Lecuyer at Family Matters Medical Center for all they did to keep Teresa comfortable at home.
In accordance with Teresa’s wishes, cremation has taken place followed by a private family interment at Green Acres Funeral Home. Thank you to Alterna Cremation, Father Sam, Tonina Fioretino, and Green Acres for assisting us in making this a beautiful celebration of Teresa’s life.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Teresa’s memory, may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba.
