Sharon and family. My deepest sympathies to all of you. My most often thought memory is when Murray and Harlan invented the plastic cover for golf clubs. They were always trying something and I got a real kick out of it and of them. .they were always so happy. He will be missed by many.

My condolences to you Sharon and family. I'd like to share some memories of my brother Harlan. We came from a large family and I can remember Harlan washing floors and doing laundry when we were out of towels and babysitting. When he complained to my mom about babysitting, she replied that someday she would be babysitting his children..and she did. His nickname among his siblings was Lolly, and he enjoyed peanut butter. I was part of their wedding party in 1963 when Harlan married his bride Sharon- a great, supportive wife and terrific sister-in-law. I enjoyed Harlan's 80th birthday in Brunkild and danced a waltz with him - a great memory.
A fond farewell to my brother.

Our sincerest condolences to you Sharon, and all of your family. I have many fond memories of Harlan from my early years in the equipment business working with him, while perfecting the performance of our combines and other equipment. I learned alot from him and one of the most important things was his persistence to get it right.
Thinking of you at this time.

Harlan had faced so many illnesses & setbacks but 'tough as nails' he always sported his big smile on greeting us. You can't keep a good man down! Harlan left his mark in the Brunkild Community & beyond. "Small Town Boy Does Big Things". His legacy of successes in: farming, business, great kids & grand kids, plus many friends 'near & far' speak to his intelligence, integrity, stamina & easy going sense of humour...Plus...behind every good man is a really good woman & Harlan picked his beauty, Sharon, to be right-by-his-side through thick & thin. A great team! Remembering Harlan fondly & thinking of You at this time Sharon. Sincerely, Douglas & Sheila Kaminsky. (a poem for you written by Chief Dan George)...
"May the stars carry your sadness away,
May the flowers fill your heart with beauty,
May hope forever wipe away your tears,
And above all, may silence make you strong." (Chief Dan George)

Back in 1977 I bought a combine from Harlan's brother Milo and headed south on the wheat harvest. I started combining wheat in Oklahoma and when Harlan and his crew arrived in Russell Kansas a month or so later, he let us jump right in and work side by side on his customers fields. He was a great mentor to me and a terrific teacher. I never forgot how when the machines weren't set right he would always ask me, "well what do you want to do to fix the problem?'" Of course he knew perfectly well what to do but his coaching challenged me and made me good at the game. The second year we combined together and on the way north into South Dakota he said he wanted to go home and that my partner and I should buy his combine and finish the harvest. He introduced us to his banker and within a week we were back in the fields of South Dakota having made the purchase. It always amazed me how Harlan had so much pull to get things done. We had some really good times together my friend. Rest in Peace.
My deepest sympathies, Sharon and family from Doug and Diana Dueck

Dale and I send our deepest sympathy to ALL of the Bestland family.
Harlan was a great man and you could easily hear that special laugh of his in a crowd. Growing up in Brunkild was a treat to interact with Harlan and Sharon. Whether it was delivering their paper or babysitting the kids. I know he will be missed by many.

Our family wishes to extend our deepest sympathy to all members of the Bestland family. Big “H” was one of a kind and always very nice to me as a kid or lately when we worked harvest together. He was a farmer through and through but I will remember him for his kindness, humour and laugh. Probably one of the tougher guys I know that I’m not sure ever felt pain, I will never forget when we were working a field together and he was in the combine. Big “H” was ill in what we later discovered was a stone, but really didn’t want to get out of that combine. When he finally went to the hospital under the direction of his family, he was released a few days later and the first thing he did was come out to the field to check out how things were going, noticed a semi loaded, jumped right in and ran it to the yard. What a guy!! It was an honour to know and interact with such a kind man in the field, at the hockey rink, or the baseball diamond. It was evident his family was everything and he prided himself in how many hockey games of the grandkids he got to. He will be truly missed.

My most heartfelt condolences to my Uncles family. When my father passed, Uncle Harlan was there for me, Mark and Janet. I remember he looked so much like my Dad that it brought me comfort at that time. You will be missed.
