I was shocked and very saddened to hear about Gord's sudden passing. I fondly remember our marathon telephone calls where we covered many topics such as family history, the winter weather in Winnipeg, Conservative versus Liberal politics, how well the Jets were playing, and the benefits or liabilities of the Royal Family. I also remember the times when he would make the long drive to Ontario for visits, which usually included trips to antique markets for additions to his collection of Royal or military memorabilia and the never ending search for the perfect french fry. I offer heartfelt condolences to his family in Manitoba from his cousins in Ontario.
