Obituary of Eleanor Lillian Wilde
It is with immense sadness the family of Eleanor Lillian Wilde announce her passing on Thursday, January 28th, 2021 in Winnipeg.
To respect our mom’s wishes, we will condense her life story into just a few words.
Eleanor was extremely proud to have been born in Tilston, Mb. on October 22, 1920. She lived most of her adult life in Brandon where she was happiest and developed many life-long cherished friendships. Mom so enjoyed the walking paths in Brandon right into her early 90’s; birds (especially wrens and owls); pink or white cosmos; Ian Tyson recordings; full moons; her favorite sporting team being the Toronto Blue Jays; all televised curling events; and the overall beauty that Mother Nature afforded, but especially the beauty of Manitoba.
She so loved her family above all else and sacrificed her own needs to give them nothing but the best.
Our remarkable mom is survived by daughters Susan Sparling (Dennis) of Winnipeg, Myrna Wilde (Ted Parker) of Kelowna; grandsons Brad Sparling (Laura), Scott Sparling (Carlie); and great grandsons Ben and Jasper Sparling all of Winnipeg.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Ken; son Michael and daughter Sally.
At Eleanor’s request, a private family service will be held at a future date.
If friends so desire, a memorial tribute may be made in Eleanor’s honour to either the Sally J. Wilde Memorial Scholarship Fund at Brandon University or the Brandon Humane Society.
A life well lived and SO LOVED by all.
