Mary wound her way in to my thoughts many times over the past years. She was not someone you soon forget! I was a young university student with little life experience assigned to provide holiday coverage for social workers in the north end field offices of CAS during the summer of 1971. (Bob Christle was also my supervisor) Mary exuded more character in one person than I had encountered to date; her matter of fact manner, her warmth, that throaty laugh combined with a toughness that lent itself to the difficult job with which she and her colleagues were tasked. My learning curve was significant but my education during that summer was immense thanks in great measure to Mary. Thank you Mary for being you and for working to make our little corner of the world a better place.

As a fellow Scot, I enjoyed my time with Mary at the Children's Aid Society of Winnipeg. Truly a wonderful woman.

Mary was a pleasure to be with as she was always cheerful, very kind and had a wonderful smile.
As her supervisor Mary was a hard worker and her clients were her first priority.
Mary was loyal to her coworkers and always willing to help in whatever way she could.
As our friend it was a joy to have known her
We send our love and sympathy to her family

A truly kind and gentle soul, Mary brought only goodness and love to this world. She was kind, generous, caring and thoughtful in a way few others are.
She had some real tragedies in the loss of her sons, but never became embittered. She is so sadly missed by everyone who knew her. God bless, Mary.

Mary was my best friend’s mother, so I saw her at various stages of her life. She was a strong woman and loved being with family, both in Scotland and at home.A compassionate, supportive social worker for many years in the Winnipeg region she helped many to obtain a better life. In her later years, she loved being at her home with her constant companion,Laddie. She will be missed by all who knew her! Kathy Hart
