Hello Amelia, Evelyn and Barry,
I don’t know any of you however want you to know that my husband and I sat on the bench in East St. Paul dedicated to your son and finance last night and we watched the moon over the water in East St. Paul. We asked ourselves “I wonder who Sam Graham Boyce” was as a person as we read the tribute to him on the bench. I googled his name and came across his obituary, memorial video and his proposal video to Amelia. Obviously, this was only a snap shot of his life however it brought light as to his character and how he loved life. You must miss him terribly and just want to say “thank you” for the bench and taking the time for the videos to show the type of person that Sam was in his short-lived life. Wishing you peace as you reflect upon the memories of Sam.

Ev and Barry,
We were incredibly saddened to hear of Sam’s passing earlier this year. We have many fond memories of Sam and Derek playing ball together - the celebrations on and off the field. Sam was an intelligent, gifted and humorous young man.
What a beautiful tribute to commemorate his life. Please know that we, like many in the community are thinking of you.

There are so many things you want to say but how do you narrow down a life to just a few moments? Or even a paragraph about someone that you love. In a lot of scenarios in life, you just don’t know what you got until it’s gone. This wasn’t the case with Sammy. Sam was an very unique being that always had something funny, informative or just outright silly to say. That guy would always catch me off guard with something that he said, did or both. One thing about Sam is that he wasn’t afraid to show affection or emotion. If he loved you, you knew. Many moments come to mind when I look back at some of the times we shared together and none of them were dull. I always had a great laugh or great time talking and enjoying his company. He was very informed and educated himself in whatever he was interested in and I respected that about him. That kid was talented man and I don’t think he even saw it in himself in a lot of scenarios. Patty and I would watch his YouTube postings and some of them were just hilarious. Clever Canadian humour at its finest. One of my fondest memories of Sam was when he was so excited to show me a race that he had filmed. He scrambled over as quick as he could arms outstretched with his phone in his hands. He couldn’t wait to show me his perspective on it until he realized that he didn’t press record. We laughed so hard. I could tell it bugged him badly but the next week he showed up and made sure he got the record button figured out. We had a great celebration that night and I will never ever forget it. There are many fond memories I will cherish forever. We love you Sammy. You will always be in our hearts. Love Darian and Patty.
