Obituary of Debra (Debbie) Susan Morton

(nee: Dolinski) It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Debbie Morton, who passed Friday, May 21, 2021. Debbie leaves behind to cherish her memory husband Brad of 42 years; daughter Candace (Kevin Hildebrandt); son Craig (Dawn); grandchildren Damien, Zachery, Grace and Knox who proudly called her Baba. Debbie is survived by her brother Grant (Lydia); sisters-in-law Darlene and Jo-Anne; Auntie Rosie Ostryzniuk; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Debbie was predeceased by her mother Mary; father Steve; twin brother David; brothers Bill and Gerald; and grandmother Baba Annie. Debbie was born in Winnipeg and later resided in East Selkirk, Manitoba with her husband. Debbie and Brad have been together for a total of 48 years. Debbie was one of the hardest working human beings you would ever meet. She had numerous jobs in her life and for a number of years running her own business the “57 Chev Cafe”, delighting customers with her famous sandwiches, burgers, homemade fries and soups! Always supportive and young at heart her greatest happiness was being with her family and playing with her grandkids. She would love telling us all her stories, listening to music, dancing and being silly. She also was smitten with giving us the funniest nicknames. She enjoyed the outdoors from planting flowers, watching the wildlife, bike rides, camping, sitting by the fire and fishing, she was a pro at catching tons of walleye and perch. She liked playing cards and games, from baseball, curling, to watching her kids and grandchildren’s hockey/football games, playing darts, with no problem getting a hat trick. She was entertained by yahtzee, sudoku, puzzles and trying her luck with lottos/scratch tickets. Debbie loved special occasions birthdays, halloween, Easter, but especially Christmas where she would make that whole day amazing from the decorations, presents, and the FOOD! Boy oh boy, she could cook the best stuffing in the world and then finish up that night with a blast of a party!!! She would always be amused by romantic movies and travelling, so she could relax by enjoying the water, sun sets and different cultures. In her later years she took up painting, where now our homes are filled with gorgeous scenic and personalized artwork. She was so giving by always passing down jewelry. She began her own coin collection which started a tradition of giving extra special coins to us on our birthdays. Our Mom, Baba and Wife had a beauty in her like no other. Her smile and laugh would make us feel safe and happy, but most of all she taught us how to love unconditionally and that our bond will never be broken. For that we THANK YOU, we are truly grateful! We love you and miss you so immensely and will never forget everything you have brought to our lives. You are the BEST!!! Rest In Peace. Cremation and a private celebration of Debbie’s life has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of choice.
