Obituary of Joan Sigrun Rowe

Joan Rowe was born on Sept 1, 1935 to William and Elizabeth Hanson, their fifth and youngest child. She died on August 15, 2021 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with her niece Linda, by her side. Joan was predeceased by her brothers Bill and Walter. She is survived by her sisters Evelyn and Anita; and many nieces and nephews. Joan lived most of her life in California with her husband, Dr. Marvin Rowe, working at his side as his nurse. After his death, she lived alone for a short time before moving to Atlanta and then Winnipeg, under the care of her niece Jennifer. Joan had no children of her own, but her nieces and nephews loved her visits, listening to her kind words, appreciating all the Christmas presents and best of all, her singing. In her last months of her life, Joan loved to hear her nieces sing one of her favourites, “Que Sera Sera”. We are so grateful to our sister Jennifer for being her guardian during the last years of her life. We are also grateful for the privilege of having had our dear Aunt Joan in our lives.
