Walter Rowinski

Obituary of Walter Anthony Rowinski

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Walter (Wally) Rowinski on November 4, 2021. He is survived by his children, who were his world, son Brendan (Amy) and daughter Danica; as well as his special fur family members Mowgli, Spyro and Bella. Wally is also survived by his mother Mary; brother Ed; sister Irene; nieces Tori and Kaira; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Wally taught at Holy Ghost School where he later served as Principal for many years, before taking a position at Holy Cross School. He made lasting impressions on his students and their families. Wally had a great sense of humor and a love of music - he cold belt out songs all day long. He also loved sports, having enjoyed playing hockey and football himself and then later watching his children play hockey and ringette. During his hard-fought battle with diabetes and kidney disease, he made many friendships with the other patients he met along the way. Thank you, Seven Oaks Dialysis, for making this journey a little easier. Thank you to Chris and Cheryl for all your help throughout the year; It meant the world to Wally. He appreciated you both. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Kidney Foundation of Canada. A private Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Parish. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we ask that only those invited attend in person. The Funeral Mass may be viewed live on Holy Ghost’s website. Please find the link in the drop-down menu / sidebar of this webpage. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.
