Obituary of Joyce Rivard
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mom Joyce on February 25, 2022 at the age of 84 years.
Mom is survived by her loving children, Jacquie (Tony), Deane (Yves), Glen, Denis (Darlene), and Gina (Carlos); her beautiful grandchildren, Paige, Kyle, Dylan (Chelsey), Cole, Megan, Brook and Taylor; and special sisters Pat and Gloria (who was also Mom’s best friend).
Mom was predeceased by her husband Claude, children Paula and Estelle, her parents Adolf and Gabrielle and siblings Mary, Julienne, Rene and Maurice.
Mom was a happy, kind, giving, grateful, very hard working, truly selfless person. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and as of late referred to us as “her people”.
In Mom’s younger days she loved to garden (she had one of the largest gardens around), knit family afghans, sew, and sing in the church choir. She was always volunteering and organizing fund raisers for her community or church.
Mom’s Roman Catholic faith was very important to her and it helped her cope with many hardships in her life.
Mom was a stomach cancer survivor and had suffered from dementia for a number of years.
Mom lived at the Rosewood, supportive living, from 2017 until very recently. We would like to thank all of Mom’s caregivers, for the excellent care that they gave her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society, 10-120 Donald St., Wpg. R3C-4G2
Our hearts are broken, but it is time for you Mom to fly with the angels
A funeral mass will be celebrated at our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 4588 Roblin Blvd., Winnipeg on Saturday March 5, 2022 at 2:30 p.m.
