Obituary of Margaret (Maggie) Strutt

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Margaret Anne Isabel Strutt (nee Irwin). Maggie passed away peacefully in Winnipeg on April 8, 2022, at the age of 76, with her family at her side. Born in Virden, Manitoba on February 23, 1946, the daughter of Anne and James Irwin, she was one of five children. She grew up in Sinclair, Manitoba and attended Bardal School No. 1088. Maggie will be greatly missed by her children Calvin (Kelly), Brenda (Mark), Kelly (Eva); granddaughter Rylie; her siblings Corrine, Melvin (Margie) and their families; and her many friends. Maggie was predeceased by her beloved brother Lynn and sister Grace. Maggie had a great love of curling, golf, dancing, sewing, crocheting, needlepoint, traveling and chocolate (… life is always better with chocolate!). Although she struggled with breast cancer and other health issues later in life, she did so with dignity and determination to live life to the fullest. The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at the Riverview Health Centre, where Maggie spent her last days. In accordance with Maggie’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a family celebration of life will be held at a later date to scatter her ashes at her chosen location.
