Obituary of Elaine Grace May

It is with profound sadness that we share the sudden passing of Elaine May on April 7, 2022. Born June 24, 1947, Elaine was predeceased by her parents Bill and Gladys Lozinski of Dauphin and sister Marlene Jacobs. Elaine and sisters Yvonne and Marlene were raised near Ochre River. She often shared memories of growing up on the farm and later instilled in her family a deep appreciation for wildlife and nature. Elaine left home as a young adult and moved to Winnipeg to begin her career and later to marry (Ron May). She worked tirelessly building a home and raising a family. Elaine was an avid gardener and loved being outdoors. Going for walks and wiener roasts at the farm, family camping and ski trips, landscaping her yard and later creating beautiful garden space around her condo; these were some of the places she found much happiness. Ever creative, Elaine was a talented seamstress and was often scouting a new crafty project for her home or family. Elaine loved her family fiercely and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She will be forever remembered by her children Lise (Jody) and Paul (Jenna), and grandchildren Noella and Everett who held an extra special place in her heart. Her family, large extended family, friends, and feline companion Niki will all miss her dearly. Elaine loved small family gatherings and celebrations. She taught the importance of having things to look forward to as well as acknowledging small and big moments alike. We are forever thankful for this and work hard to uphold this tradition in our own families. In accordance with her wishes, a private gathering to celebrate Elaine's life will take place at a later date. We will remember your thoughtfulness, love of all living things, compassionate spirit and kind heart. You are missed and loved beyond measure.
