Luc Landry

Obituary of Luc Edouard Joseph Landry

After a brief illness, it is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of Luc, our beloved brother, uncle and brother-in-law at age 66. Luc was born October 24, 1955 and grew up in Lorette, Manitoba, the youngest of the family. He graduated from Lorette Collegiate Institute, then attended Red River Community College where he graduated with honors in Electrical Technology. He had a long and successful career both in the private and public sectors, finally retiring from Manitoba Hydro in 2016. Luc’s main interests were his love for music, the outdoors, and family. The Lucster was a rock & roll enthusiast, and shared this passion with his nephews and friends. He always had a cool story to tell about a band, and would tell it with his usual gut-busting humour. He loved fishing on his boat Betty, and enjoyed many laughs and adventures on the water. He shared his fishing and boating know-how with the boys, and kept everyone entertained around a campfire with his story telling. Luc was predeceased by his parents Eugenie (nee Jeanson), Arthur Landry and his brother-in-law Dan Romaniuk. He is survived by his siblings: Yvonne (Dan, deceased), Roland (Angie), Philippe (Josie), Annette, Monique (Greg). Many nieces and nephews; Glenn (Marcia), Tracy (Kelly), Mia (Gerald), Justin, Jessica, Blair, Colin, Avry, Neve, Ethan, Owen, Ainsley and Tristan. Luc was a very kindhearted and generous person who always thought of others before himself. Your great smile and contagious humour will forever stay alive in our memories and hearts. Enjoy the fishing in heaven. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., at Notre Dame de Lorette Parish, 1282 Dawson Rd., Lorette, MB. Father Jorge Mario de los Rios Londono officiating. Interment to follow immediately after mass in the parish cemetery. Lunch will be served after the interment at the parish hall. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Manitoba in his name.
