Obituary of Brian James Snively
We are sad to announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Brian James Snively at the age of 67 at St. Boniface hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba on October 3rd, 2022. He will be greatly and deeply missed.
Brian was born on November 15, 1954 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
Brian leaves behind his wife of 18 years Leigh-Ann Baker; sons Brian and James; two step daughters Monique and Kimberly; brother George (Julia); sisters Linda Pinette (Albert) and Leslie Kidd (Kevin); grandchildren Aiden, Landon, Ezekiel and Job; and many nieces, nephews, family (Leigh-Ann’s) and friends.
Brian is predeceased by his father George Wilson Snively; mother Phyllis G. Nantau; and grandchild Coral Faye.
Brian as a young man started working in the grocery industry working for his dad. Years later he became an electrical apprentice.
Before he met Leigh-Ann, he started on his journey to becoming a productive member of society in 1998. At the time when Brian met Leigh-Ann, he was about to celebrate his 5th sober birthday. His sobriety was his biggest accomplishment. He just celebrated his 24th sober birthday. He was all about his sobriety. Living sober was life for him.
After he met Leigh-Ann, he went back to the grocery industry in 2008. He has since worked in a few grocery stores for the last 14 years. Brian and Leigh-Ann moved to Winnipeg in 2015 and had to unexpectedly move back to British Columbia in 2016. In that time back in B.C. they did some local travelling to Hope, Harrison Hot Springs and Sechelt. They decided to move back to Winnipeg May 2022 until his unexpected passing.
The family will be holding a private service.
God grant me the serenity to accept things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference
