Obituary of Marilyn Eileen Toews

Marilyn passed away June 22, 2023, surrounded by her family at Grace Hospital after a long battle with COPD.

Born on March 30, 1941, to Jack and Anna Flatt, she resided in Waldersee and married Gerald Rattai in 1961. They built a house in Dugald, a cabin at Leisure Falls, and finally their home on Forbes Road in St. Germain. She taught organ first at Millers School of Music, and later at Tauber’s. She could rarely be seen riding a dirt bike. After Gerald’s passing in 2006, she remarried in 2012 to Lawrence Toews.

She is survived by husband Lawrence and her children, James and Jodi Rattai; her sister Gladys Fraser; grandkids Cheyauna, Brady, Cierra, Logan, Mia, Melissa, Conner and Cymphany.

 Her brother Eldon Flatt precedes her.

Her love of sugar in her coffee, stubbornness, luck and music will remind all of her wonderful personality.

A Celebration of Life is to be held at Faith Lutheran Church on Friday July 14, 2023 at 11:00 am.
