Rey Rondeau

Obituary of Rey Rondeau

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Reymond Kenneth Rondeau on July 4, 2023, at the age of 79. He leaves behind countless cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Rey will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 45 years, Eva Rondeau, who stood by his side through thick and thin, sharing a bond that was an inspiration to all. He is survived by Eva Raduy, Debbie Rondeau, Steve (Susan) Raduy, Anita Raduy (Kelvin Johnstone), Jerry (Tanis) Raduy, and Dina (Mike) Lesyshen. Rey held a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews, Alix, Sydney, Christopher, Ethan, Layne, Bria, Brooke, Ryan, Rene, and grand-niece Kyra. He was predeceased by his parents Emile (Ed) and Helene, his brother Denis, and his father-in-law Tibor Raduy.

From a young age, Rey displayed remarkable dedication and commitment to his family's business, Rond’s Marine. Working alongside his father and brother, he helped cultivate and expand the business, leaving a legacy within the marine industry. Rey's expertise as a marine & snowmobile mechanic was unparalleled, and his passion for the sport was evident in every task he undertook.

Contributing to the family business on evenings & weekends, Rey also spent his days working as an Engineer at Atomic Energy of Canada, in Pinawa. During his many years at AECL, he worked on several projects including the design of the Pickering plant in Ontario.

On the open waters was where Rey found his greatest joy. Sailing was his true passion, and with unwavering dedication, Reymond taught Eva's family members the art of sailing, gifting them with the ability to navigate the World's Oceans. Together, Rey and Eva, along with their dogs Montana, Cheyenne, and Aspen, created cherished memories aboard their boat, “Adrenalin”, which found a peaceful haven in Northern Harbour, Ontario.

Rey will be remembered for his love of nature, compassion, and humility. He touched the lives of countless individuals with his generous spirit, gentle nature, and concern for others. He will forever remain an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Eva wishes to extend a most heartfelt thank you to all the staff of 3E Palliative Care at Riverview.  Rey was treated with dignity, respect and compassion.

As we bid farewell to Reymond Kenneth Rondeau, we find solace in the knowledge that his legacy of strength and determination will continue to live on through the lives of those he loved and who loved him in return. Never forgotten, and in our thoughts forever.
