Obituary of Dennis Nelson Storsley
Suddenly, on Saturday, July 22, 2023, Dennis passed away at the Charleswood Care Centre. He was 77.
He was predeceased by his father, Nelson James Storsley in 2007, and his mother, Lily Storsley (nee Wurch), in 2019. He was also predeceased by his brother, James Wayne Storsley in May 2023.
He is survived by his sister, Darlene Stefanko (Wayne), his brother, Elson Storsley (Evelyn), and his sister-in-law, Donna Storsley. He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews and their children.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no service. A private family burial will take place in August.
Dennis was born in the Municipality of Brokenhead, Manitoba. He grew up on his parents’ dairy farm - Sandridge Farms in St. Ouens, Manitoba.
Dennis excelled in school. He attended South St. Ouens School for Grades 1 - 8 and completed his education (Grades 9 - 12) at Beausejour Collegiate Institute. Dennis was an accomplished trombone player and loved playing in the St. Ouens Church’s orchestra - made up of at least 12 other musicians - quite something for a country church. He accepted Jesus as his Saviour, and was baptized in the Brokenhead River as a young teen.
Dennis struggled with various health challenges all his life. He remarked to Darlene just two weeks ago, “Every day, heaven seems to be getting nearer and nearer”. Well Dennis, you have made it! You are now with your dear parents, brother, and grandparents, and others that were waiting for you that you loved so very much. Rest in peace, dear Dennis.
“God will provide for His children’s needs in their eternal home,
where there will be no more hunger, thirst, or pain, and
He will wipe away all tears.” (Revelation 7:16 NIV)
