Obituary of Carol Louise Jumaga
Carol Jumaga (Hrabi), Nee Oppeboen
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother on Sept 2, 2023, at the age of 82.
Left to mourn are her sons Ward Hrabi (Cathy), Wayne Hrabi (Debbie); daughter Wendy Gratton (Real); grandchildren Natalie (Tyler), David (Alyssa), Ryan (Larissa), Nicole (Kevin), Noah and Danielle (Romar); great grandchildren Zenna, Zavyer and Theo; fur baby Tallie; cousin Elaine; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Joseph; her brother Jack; and her parents John and Merle.
Mom enjoyed tending to her flowers, puzzling, reading, playing crib and emailing her family and online friends, with both world and family news. In the event that mom was feeling lucky, she would be sure to head off to play bingo with her good friend Jessie. Mom was also an avid football fan. Through the years, she enjoyed watching her grandsons play and she would always be sure to watch every Bomber game on TV, many times, with her cousin Elaine.
A soft heart for animals, our home was always open to stray or rescue dogs and cats.
Mom was the coordinator and host of the yearly family BBQ, the yearly perishke party with all her grandchildren, and the annual Christmas gathering.
Never one to shy away from hard work, mom and Joe purchased and totally renovated, their home of 40+ years in North Point Douglas. She taught us children the values we needed to succeed, and worked hard all her life, to give us the best she could.
We are eternally grateful to the emergency room doctors and nurses at St. Boniface Hospital who provided Mom with excellent and compassionate care, in her short stay there. This gratitude is also extended to her friend Jessie, who provided that same compassion, care, and comfort to Mom, while she remained at home.
In lieu of flowers please donate to your local animal shelter.
In accordance with her wishes, a small Celebration of Her Life and a private interment has taken place.
