Wayne Demanski

Obituary of Wayne Stanley Demanski

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Demanski.

Wayne leaves behind his sister Marlene Roche (Bob); his nieces Patricia Roche (Robby) and Joanna Loveless; and many relatives. Wayne had a very special relationship with his sister Daisy Hagemann in Germany for 30 years, who misses him dearly.

He was predeceased by his parents Helen Demanski (2010) and Stanley Demanski (1998).

Wayne grew up in Winnipeg in the Weston area, then attended Sisler High School in the North End. Many family car trips were made in winter and summer to visit relatives and friends in Shoal Lake, Brandon, and Killarney, MB.

He worked at many jobs in the 1970's including as a delivery driver for the WFP to Kenora and operating a mobile brake truck. He changed careers in the 1980's to work as a salesperson at Eaton's, The Bay and Leon's Furniture.

Many friends and memories were made hanging out at "The Hook" (Lincoln Motor Hotel).

In 1989, Wayne obtained his 3rd Class Power Engineers' Certificate and he worked for the WSD#1 until his retirement.

Wayne was a seriously avid reader and borrowed many many books from the Winnipeg Public Library. He was constantly expanding his knowledge.

Wayne lived life on his own terms, with no apologies.

As per Wayne's wishes, no service will be held. A Family potluck dinner will be held in the near future.
