Obituary of Donald Joseph Chestley
Donald Joseph Chestley, 75, of Winnipeg, MB, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2024.
Don was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan on October 8, 1948 to Joseph and Rose Chestley. He was the second oldest of 5 children.
Family and work meant a lot to him. He was always professional, very supportive. and was always there to lend a hand to anyone who needed help. He enjoyed being around people and always had a smile on his face.
Don was also an avid baseball player, playing for many years and coaching his daughter Jaclyn’s baseball team. Not only did he love sports, he loved rock n’ roll and listened to it all the time, especially at work through his old school radio. He was also someone who loved to be outside and work in the yard. With an acre of lawn to cut, he refused to get a ride-on lawn mower, as a regular mower was his form of exercise.
Don is predeceased by his dad Joe (1985), ex-wife Melinda (2015), mom Rose (2015), wife Susan (2022) and brother Doug (2023). Don is survived by his children Melina, Kevin (granddaughter Alexa), Jaclyn (Jordan) and Hayley (Kyle). His siblings Eleanor, Glenn (Val), Gwen (Ted), and many nieces, nephews and relatives.
Thank you to all of the kind and caring staff at Selkirk General Hospital.
