Obituary of Charles Alexander Reid
On March 2, 2024, Charles (Chuck) Alexander Reid left on his eternal journey.
He is survived by his loving soul mate Ev; dog Storm; daughters Diana (Joe), Donna (Ed); grandchildren Alexander and Angela; other extended immediate family; brother Allen (Alexina) and sister Alison (Lance).
Ev and Chuck enjoyed a very special relationship. The love and respect they shared was beautiful.
To Ev, Diana and Donna Chuck was their rock. Always willing to listen, support with love and understanding.
He loved nature and especially all creatures great and small.
Chuck was a Civil Engineer and worked in the construction industry serving as project manager, manager and senior estimator well into his retirement years.
He served his country with special ops in the military.
Chuck was a man of his word. Highly intelligent, widely read, deeply perceptive. He was a man of few words, but when he spoke it was worthwhile to listen. He was a deep thinker and had a vast knowledge of any topic imaginable.
Chuck loved flying and enjoyed having his pilot‘s license. He flew Ev and the girls to Florida and to Lac Du Bonnet most weekends.
He worked in many places high into the Arctic, south to Turks and Caicos and across Canada. He spent several months as construction project manager for a major project on Providenciales Island. He spoke how fortunate he was to visit and work in many remote places.
Chuck and Ev loved travelling to Florida, Mexico, Providenciales, and many parts of Canada.
Chuck was meticulous about woodworking. He built a variety of beautiful furniture, china cabinets, bookcases and when Ev needed a desk for her home office he built a special office desk for her. They loved working together on projects in the home.
He especially enjoyed Sunday dinners with Alexander and the family. He appreciated the small things in life; those things that most people take for granted.
Chuck was protective, loving and dedicated to Ev and her daughters.
To Diana and Donna, he is and always will be their much loved special Dad.
As per Chuck's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Wounded Warriors or to a wildlife or animal charity of one’s choice.
Chuck, wherever you are, you will always be loved and in our hearts, see you on the other side.
