Obituary of Linda Frances Buchan

It is with great sadness that we announce that Linda passed away surrounded by the love of her family on Monday March 11, 2024.

Linda’s greatest joy was being a mom and a grandma, and she was the best.

Linda is survived by her children Jeremy and his wife Karen, Jessica and her husband Grant and three most precious grandsons who she loved and adored, Arlen, Elliot and Ashton. Linda is also survived by her sisters Marion and Barb; nieces and nephews Michael, Greg, Tammy, Brandi (Danny), Stephanie and Sammy. Linda also held a special place in her heart for her great nieces Lily and Robson and great nephew Hudson.

Linda was predeceased by her parents Peter and Lillian Yanciw,and her brother David.

Linda was born on December 16, 1960 in Gimli and grew up on a farm in Winnipeg Beach. Growing up on the farm was where Linda learned to love gardening and canning, especially salsa which her family will truly miss.

Linda loved spending time with family and friends, and always looked forward to weekends at the beach with her mom. They had a close bond, and always enjoyed cooking together, playing bingo, skip-bo or rummikub. Linda also found great joy in hosting many high school exchange students over the years. 

The family would like to thank the staff at River East Personal Care Home for their care and compassion provided to Linda. Percy who was one of Linda’s care companions went above and beyond what was expected of her.

 Thank you to Jana, for your constant care and compassion, you were a true friend, and our family cannot thank you enough. You were always there for Linda; you will never know what that meant to us.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
