Carol, Kim and Matt we were saddened to hear of Ed’s passing. Our sincerest condolences to you. His memory and wonderful times you had with him, will remain in your hearts forever. A great legacy and stories to pass on to his grandchildren. Bob had spoken with him just a few months before he retired and Ed informed him then of his illness. He was always in our thoughts and prayers, and often wondered how he was doing.

Archie and I both worked at the Winnipeg School Division and that’s how how our paths crossed with Ed. He was a mill right/machinist extraordinaire....There was nothing that he wasn’t able to repair or fabricate. As the years passed our professional relationship evolved into a more personal one and Ed and his loving wife Carol became our close friends as well. We always enjoyed being together at their beautiful homes in Lake of the Woods and Winnipeg. Ed always had a project or ten on the go which highlighted his superior workmanship and skills .
We will greatly miss Ed’s generosity of spirit and friendship and he will remain in our thoughts and hearts always.
Dear Carol, Kim and Matt and extended family, please know that we share in your sorrow and hope that you may find comfort in your circle of family and friends at this very sad and difficult time.
With love and sympathy- Erika and Archie Nicholson

I will remember Eddie’s sly smile when Kim and I told him our stories. His chuckle. The way he liked something sweet in the evening. His great sense of humour. His inspiring work ethic. His strong, strong heart. His great love and adoration for his family, Carol, Kim and Matty. His willingness to help others in need. He was the best. I know he will live in in so many family traditions. Im sending so much love to all his family and close friends. An amazing, amazing guy.

We extend our Deepest Condolences to you Carol, Kim, Matt and Families, with the loss of your Beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather. You were longtime neighbours in St Andrews and Friend to all of us. Our favourite memory of Ed was our trip together with he and Carol to the West Coast, and the gracious reception Joe and I received from his parents. This is how Ed was as well, always gracious, helping anyone who needed anything done, definitely a testament to how he was raised. Carol and Family, we will keep you in our thoughts during this difficult time for all of you. Joe and Maryanne Schers

Uncle Ed, thank you for being you and for making me laugh when I needed it most. I remember like yesterday Christmas’s in St. Andrews and visiting you and Aunty Carol in LOTW with mom. You always made a special point of making sure mom had fun and I loved you for that. I appreciated all the help you gave Todd and I when we bought our place at the lake and that you came out and cheered on Jenna’s hockey team – win or lose. Most of all, I admired you for being a loving family man who followed his dreams and lived life to the fullest.
Aunty Carol, Kim, Matt, our hearts go out to you and your families at thIs difficult time. I hope you can find some comfort in knowing Ed always had the biggest smile and a twinkle in his eye whenever he spoke of you and your families. He will be forever in our hearts.
Terri Todd Michael and Jenna

Ed, thank you for being an amazing Father In-Law! You will be missed dearly. It’s hard to believe you are gone. Your quirky ways live on in the many Eddie-isms that we will continue to always use. I’d love to have one more fishing trip with you, but I am glad that the pain has now stopped. I’m thankful for the many trips and family time that we got to spend together with you, Thanks for raising your lovely daughter and for welcoming me to the family. We will always remind Connor that it was you who taught him to fish and about the great Grandpa that you were. We love you Ed!
