Obituary of Edward Robert Demarski

With loved ones by his side, Ed passed away peacefully on Monday, August 3, 2020 at the age of 74. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Carol; children Kim (Mark) and Matthew (Angel); his grandchildren Easton, Channing and Connor; sister Norie; mother- in-law Irene, brother-in-laws Ken (Debbie) and Tim; as well as his loving nieces and nephews, relatives and many very dear friends. Ed was well known for his willingness to help anyone build almost anything and fix everything else. No matter the project, he showed much pride, art and skill in all his work. His loving and quirky habits, generosity for helping others, industrious nature and work ethic beyond what is imaginable are ways he will forever be remembered. Ed was never afraid to take on a challenge, in fact the greater the challenge the more he thrived. Ed’s greatest pleasure was time spent at the cottage at Lake of the Woods. He loved to roam the property and enjoy a Rye and Coke on the dock watching the sunset over the bay while dreaming about his next project and listening to the call of loons. He was especially fond of boating and exploring his favourite fishing spots and sharing his expertise with his grandsons. He passed on to us his love of nature and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He had a passion for wildlife, hunting and scouting the open terrain with the guys. After his retirement, he spent many winters down in Florida golfing and spending hours walking the beaches with Carol. Ed was a remarkable and adventurous soul who enjoyed sharing his life stories and displayed a great sense of humour even in his final days. He was determined to keep strong and to live his dreams and life fully. His infectious smile and strong character, along with his Eddy-isms will never be far from our thoughts. Dad loved and was loved. He will forever remain in our hearts and we will continue to find him in all the traditions we are so grateful to have shared together. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will honour him. If so desired donations in Ed’s memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
