Obituary of Cindy Ann Bergner

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother Cindy Bergner on July 28, 2021 at the Portage General Hospital. Cindy is survived by her husband Lloyd; sons Floyd (Sarah) and Robert (Ashley); brothers Mark (Marilyn) and Greg; sisters Flo (Tom) and Kathleen (Brad); nephews Jay, Keith, and Dale; and nieces Candice, Brandee, Christine, Madison, Deanne, Heather, Taunia, Dana, and Debbie; Aunt Pat and Uncle Leonard; and the many relatives in Saskatchewan. Cindy was predeceased in life by her parents Herbert and Marlene (nee: Szastak), sister Terry (Tony), brother-in law Glen (Gloria). Cindy was born to parents Herb and Marlene on August 3, 1956, in Regina, SK, and shortly after made the trip home with the family to Winnipeg. As a child and teenager Cindy was very creative and artistic and was always making different crafts and attending different craft sales. This would be something that she enjoyed well into her 50’s. She loved being involved in many activities with family and friends. Whether it was playing baseball, jam pail curling, skiing, or even bingo, she cherished the time she had with them. She was also an avid card player, something her family would do for hours after Sunday’s church service and during large gatherings. Cindy’s career as a secretary with the Government began young at age 17, receiving several promotions before making the decision to leave after having children 15 years later. Her husband and sons quickly became her number one priority. She was their biggest fan and loved being behind the camera to capture their special moments. She soon became the town daycare for many of the kids in the area and cared for them as her own. As the children grew older, she started a house cleaning business with her late neighbour and long-time friend, Sherry Houde, which she did for 20 years, mainly catering to the elderly. More recently, Cindy and Lloyd celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in Vegas with her younger sister Kathleen and husband Brad. In accordance with Cindy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will take place tentatively September 18. Due to possible COVID restrictions please contact Lloyd to express your interest in attending. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Cancer Care Society.
