Our deepest condolences to all of Paul’s family and friends. We will miss him dearly and fondly remember all the memories over the years. He was very proud of his family and was so devoted to Jo-Anne and vice versa. She has done so well for him, always, but especially these last 10 months, moving him in with her and caring for him. He was a good man and we will miss him. His memory is tucked away in a good many hearts, including ours.

We first met Paul in 2005 when his niece Shauna informed me that I had a cousin in Winnipeg. We met at my father's apartment and have remained in contact ever since, getting together once or twice a year for dinner and to catch up. We looked forward to our visits with Paul and Jo-Anne. It was a treat to feast on the products of his smoker and the home-canned lobster he would bring from New Brunswick.
Over the years, we had the opportunity to meet his father, brothers and his children and their families. He would talk about his children and grandchildren and their activities. He was so proud of them.
Coincidentally we both lived in Flin Flon in the late 70's but never knew we existed and never met.
It was always good to talk with him about our family connections to Beaver Harbour, New Brunswick, although neither of us was from there.
Paul didn't suffer fools gladly and he had many stories of his bus driving days, a job he enjoyed. He even preferred to drive the split shift.
He liked the outdoor life, and often went camping in a tent in some out of the way place.
We admired his determination to become and remain sober. It was a shock to learn of his diagnosis and then of his passing too soon and too young.
We will miss you, Paul and your hearty laugh.
Our deepest sympathies go out to Stacy & Chad and Kevin & Melanie and their families, and to Robert & Marguerite, Ian & Mary, Glenna and Charles & Marg.
Also special condolences to Jo-Anne who was so good for him and so supportive over the years, especially in the past year.

It was a real pleasure getting to know my spiritual brother. Paul was an inspiration to us all. His courage and strength during his last year of life was nothing less than remarkable. He met all challenges head on and shared how he was feeling. I know that he loved his family and wanted to be there for as long as he was not a burden. He is at peace now and will be in my heart forever. I only wish I got to know him sooner. the last 6 years however are true treasures. I have learned much from Paul's journey.
To the family, remember the good times. they will help to ease the sorrow and the pain.
Peace.
