Obituary of Paul Renison Barry
Paul Renison Barry, 68, of Winnipeg, Manitoba sadly passed away on August 28, 2023, at the Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg.
He is survived by his best friend, Jo-Anne Lemay of Winnipeg, Manitoba; his children Stacy (Chad) Prest of Elliot Lake, Ontario and Kevin (Melanie) Barry of Grande Prairie, Alberta; his grandchildren Caitlin, Zoe, Delcan, and Lilah. He also leaves behind his brothers Ian (Mary) Barry, Charles (Marg) Gibbs, Reverend Robert (Marguerite) Barry, and sister-in-law Glenna Barry. He will be missed by all of his extended family and the good friends he made along the way.
Paul was predeceased by his grandparents, parents, as well as his brother Carl Barry.
In 1954, Paul was born in Nakina, Ontario to Robert Burton Barry and Catherine Oaks Barry. His mother passed at a young age and his father remarried Bessie Barry who raised the children in Bay du Vin, New Brunswick. He was married to Donna Barry for 17 years. They moved to Flin Flon, Manitoba where Paul began his mining career. That same career took him back to Bay du Vin followed by Bancroft, Elliot Lake, and Sudbury. Upon resigning from his mining career, Paul moved to Winnipeg where he drove bus for Winnipeg Transit for 17 years, retiring in 2018. A significant accomplishment in Paul’s life was when he joined Alcoholics Anonymous. His ‘birthday’ was March 12, 2011, and he had proudly been sober for over twelve years.
In his spare time, Paul enjoyed golfing, reading, and traveling.
