Obituary of Alan Conway

It is with great sadness that the Conway family announces the passing of Alan Conway.

Alan passed away peacefully at Selkirk Hospital on January 6, 2024, following a private, courageous battle with cancer.

Alan was born in Winnipeg on October 4, 1953. He lived in Winnipeg and Elie before making his home in Gonor, Manitoba.

Alan was very hard-working and carefully constructed his family home on an a beautiful plot of land. The house is surrounded by trees which he planted by hand. Alan ensured only the best materials were used and took his time to ensure everything was done properly and "built to last".

During his spare time after retirement, he could often be found boating and spending time with family, working on projects with Michael, going to car shows and the symphony with Beth, and spending time with his siblings for "sibling get togethers".

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Caroline; children Sasha (Kyle), Michael (Chelsea), Beth (Jeff); grandson Jaxon; siblings Lynda (Eric), Wayne, Sharon (Rudy), Brenda (Tony), Terrilyn, (Paul), and Shaun (Deb); along with numerous nephews and nieces who were very dear to his heart.

Alan was predeceased by his mother Stella and father Joseph.

Special thanks to all the amazing staff at Selkirk Hospital Emergency Room, Medicine, Cancer Care, and Home Care, Dr. Brown, Dr. Alexander, Dr. Daeninck, Dr. Lipschitz, and Dr. Prematilake.

Alan could often be heard talking about the “Gourmet” food at Selkirk hospital. He always knew he would get a great meal there.

A family graveside service was held at Assumption Cemetery.
